About the Role:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Compliance Specialist to join our team. This full-time position will focus on managing and completing recertifications for Section 8 and HUD-subsidized apartment communities . The role involves traveling between two nearby apartment complexes to ensure compliance with all federal housing regulations and maintain eligibility standards for our residents.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct and process annual and interim recertifications in accordance with HUD guidelines.

  • Ensure timely submission of all resident documentation and verifications.

  • Maintain accurate and organized tenant files and records.

  • Communicate with residents to gather required documentation and answer compliance-related questions.

  • Collaborate with property management staff to ensure lease and program compliance.

  • Perform file audits and prepare for MOR (Management and Occupancy Reviews) and REAC inspections.

  • Stay up to date with HUD regulations and Section 8 program changes.

Requirements:
  • Experience with Section 8 / HUD housing programs required .

  • Strong knowledge of HUD rules, recertification processes, and compliance standards.

  • Experience with software such as Yardi, RealPage, or similar property management platforms is preferred.

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

  • Must be able to travel locally between two apartment complexes (mileage reimbursement provided, if applicable).
