The Social Worker LCSW in Palliative Care Inpatient provides psychosocial assessments, short-term counseling, emotional support, and advance care planning for patients with serious or life-limiting illnesses and their families. This role collaborates within an interprofessional healthcare team to address patient and family needs, aiding in decision-making and problem-solving. The position requires a Master's or Ph.D. in Social Work or related fields, a California Clinical Social Worker License, and experience in a healthcare setting.

This position is supporting Palliative Care Inpatient.

This position provides psychosocial assessment, delivery of short-term counseling and emotional support, goals of care conversation and advance care planning to patients with serious or life limiting illness and their families. Works within an interprofessional team to identify problems and assist patient/family members in exploring realistic options, decision making and problem solving.

Required qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology or Counseling. Graduate from an accredited school preferred. Or
  • Ph.D. in Social Work, Psychology or Counseling. Graduate from an accredited school preferred.
  • Coursework/Training: Training in family counseling and case management.
  • California Clinical Social Worker License upon hire. Or
  • 1 year of experience in a health care setting or related field.
