Now Hiring: Youth Counselors

Location: Breinigsville, PA

Pay: $19.50 per hour

Type: Full time

Shift: 3rd Overnight (12am-8am)

CHOR Youth & Family Services is seeking Youth Counselors in the Lehigh Valley for our Paths Program located in Breinigsville, PA . Paths is a community-based specialized group treatment home for boys between the ages of 10 and 15. Youth in the program attend community schools through the Parkland School District and participate in a high level of recreational activities as well as being immersed in a highly interactive and positive social milieu.

Youth Counselor | Responsibilities:

• Demonstrates a variety of counseling, communication, and parenting skills, which support the formation of trusting, supportive relationships with the residents.
• Maintains safety and security of residents and facility.
• Actively supervises residents during academic instruction, recreational activity, in the community, and in common areas of the facility.
• Collaboratively creates residential behavioral goals in conjunction with clinical staff and case manager.
• Creates and maintains electronic health records (EHR) and reports to record residents’ progress toward behavioral goals.
• Will be trained in accordance with our structured program policies and procedures.

Youth Counselor | Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree or 2 years of college in a social or human services related field, OR
• High School Diploma or equivalent and at least two years documented experience working with youth.
• Basic computer skills.
• Must pass criminal history (including FBI) and child abuse history clearances.
• Must possess a valid driver's license.
