X-Ray Technician - New Orleans, LA
Full-Time | Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Setting: Senior Care Facility
Medix is currently hiring a dedicated and compassionate X-Ray Technician to support a senior care facility in New Orleans . In this role, you'll play a vital part in delivering high-quality diagnostic imaging and clinical support to an aging population. Common scans include chest, joint, and abdominal imaging .
Key Responsibilities:Diagnostic Imaging:
Position patients appropriately under X-ray equipment
Adjust immobilization devices and machine settings to ensure proper exposure
Follow all radiation safety and protection protocols
Clinical Support:
Assist physicians with EKGs, phlebotomy, injections, and other routine procedures
Provide compassionate care and maintain patient comfort
Documentation & Records Management:
Maintain accurate logs of X-rays performed and corresponding reports
Organize radiological film files and manage referrals and image requests
Ensure all documentation meets legal and ethical standards
Facility & Safety Compliance:
Maintain equipment and manage inventory of radiology supplies
Comply with OSHA regulations and clinic safety standards
Support a safe, clean, and efficient working environment
Team Collaboration:
Work alongside physicians, nurses, and administrative staff to ensure seamless patient flow
May be required to travel locally to cover multiple centers as needed
Graduate of an accredited program for Radiologic Technology or Basic X-Ray Machine Operator (required)
Minimum 1 year of experience as an X-ray technologist in a healthcare setting (2+ years preferred)
State licensure and/or certification as required by Louisiana regulations
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with an empathetic approach to patient care
Ability to multitask, stay organized, and maintain attention to detail
Proficient with phones, computers, and medical IT systems
Ability to remain calm and effective in busy or high-stress situations
Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
No nights, weekends, or holidays required
