Job Description: WELDER, COMBINATION, MAINTENANCE
High School diploma and/or a technical vocational high school diploma
2+ years of shipboard experience
required welding experience: 7018 stick carbon steel and stainless (SMAW) & (FCAW) carbon steel and stainless
\n - Applies basic welding processes to join surface fabricate, or repair parts of metal or other weldable materials.
\n - Applies appropriate welding processes to join, surface, fabricate, or repair parts of metal or other weldable materials.
\n - Works from blueprints, engineering sketches, charts or work orders.
\n - Lays out and marks points on parts or subassemblies using rule, square, scribe or templates.
\n - Positions pieces to be welded into jigs, holding fixtures, guides and steps using measuring instruments and hand tools.
\n - Inspects completed work for conformance to specifications.
\n - Provides guidance and work leadership to less-experienced welders.
\n - May serve as a team leader.
\n - Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
\n - Participates in special projects as required.

#hireshipyardcareersgdit The likely hourly rate for this position is between $25.50 - $34.50. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
