Job Details:

• Must have 3 years of recent ICU experience with either neuro or cardiovascular experience required
\n• UNA Dysrhythmia Exam required 24-48 hours prior to acceptance with maximum 2 attempts
\n• Pass/fail Simulation Lab required on Day 1 of orientation
\n• Work in 32-bed Surgical ICU specializing in trauma neuro surgery or 36-bed Medical Cardiac ICU plus 12-bed overflow unit
\n• Nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:2 or 1:1 depending on patient acuity
\n• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
\n• Must be comfortable titrating multiple drips including propofol, fentanyl, vasopressors, and cardiac medications
\n• RNs required to interpret their own telemetry strips using GE monitors
\n• Self-scheduling with manager balancing for unit needs
\n• Weekend requirement: 3 weekend shifts in a 4-week schedule
\n• Night shift weekends are Friday-Saturday, day shift weekends are Saturday-Sunday
\n• May have 1 holiday off during assignment
\n• May be low-censused up to 3 times per contract depending on unit needs
\n• Float to telemetry with 1:3 or 1:4 ratio as needed
\n• Float between all 3 ICUs and potentially to sister facility Mercy Gilbert
\n• Navy scrub color required
\n• 1-2 days unit-specific orientation
\n• Charting system: Cerner
\n• Care for Level 1 trauma patients, post-surgical cases, sepsis, cardiovascular procedures, and complex medical conditions

This Level 1 trauma center operates comprehensive critical care services with multiple specialized ICU units including surgical trauma neuro ICU and medical cardiac ICU. The facility provides 24/7 intensivist and respiratory therapy coverage, utilizing advanced equipment including various ventilator models and specialized cardiac support devices like ECMO, IABP, and Impella pumps. The healthcare organization maintains high standards for critical care delivery and offers a collaborative environment with no nursing assistants on the unit, allowing RNs to focus on direct patient care.
