Job Summary:
Seeking an experienced ICU Registered Nurse for a 42-bed Medical-Surgical ICU unit. This role requires advanced critical care skills, including titration of multiple drips and care for complex cardiac and trauma patients. 

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care for critically ill adults, maintaining nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:1 or 1:2 (1:3 only if no vents/drips).
• Manage and titrate a wide range of critical care infusions including vasopressors, inotropes, antiarrhythmics, sedatives, and anticoagulants.
• Care for patients with complex diagnoses such as cardiac (open heart, balloon pump, impella), trauma, tPA administration, sepsis, respiratory failure, and DKA.
• Collaborate with intensivists, physicians, RTs, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
• Float as needed to other units (maximum of 4 patients when floated).
• Document all care accurately in Epic EMR.

Requirements:

• Active RN license.
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience in a Trauma Level I or II facility (recent).
• Epic EMR proficiency required and must be recent.
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required.
• Must comply with 100-mile radius rule.
• No more than 5 days of RTO, and start date cannot be adjusted.
• No 48-hour guarantees or blocked scheduling.

Unit Details:

• Beds: 42
• Intensivist coverage: 24/7 (2 MDs + 1 NP during the day; 1 MD + 1 NP at night).
• Charge Nurse: Free on both shifts (responds to codes and rapid responses).
• Patient Care Assistants: Ratio 1:10; assist with EKGs, glucose checks, procedures, I/Os, ADLs, and lab draws.
• Respiratory Therapy: In-unit 24/7; manages vents, CPAP, BiPAP, high-flow, intubations, and ABGs.
• Monitoring: Centralized and room-based tele monitoring by Unit Support Person.

Scheduling & Shifts:

• Shift Times: 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM / 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM (must clock out for lunch).
• Self-scheduling allowed; up to 4 requested days off per 4-week period (blocks not guaranteed).
• Weekend Requirement: 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule.
• Holiday Requirement: 2 major holidays (only the day, not the eve, for Christmas).
• No on-call requirement.
