Tile Flooring Installer – Downtown Chicago Floor Coverings International is seeking a skilled Tile Flooring Installer on a subcontractor basis for residential and/or commercial projects across Downtown Chicago and its surrounding neighborhoods. Pay Range Base Pay: $60,000 – $90,000 per year. Benefits Competitive salary Flexible schedule Opportunity for advancement Responsibilities Install tiles on floors, walls, ceilings, countertops, and other surfaces according to plans and layouts. Prepare surfaces through cleaning, leveling, and waterproofing. Precisely measure, cut, and shape tiles using tile cutters and saws. Apply grout, wipe excess, and seal the surface to ensure durability. Consult with clients and designers on tile patterns, colors, and designs. Conduct quality inspections of finished work. Provide maintenance services, including repair and replacement of damaged tiles. Follow safety protocols and regulations for tools and materials. Insurance Requirements Errors and omissions insurance no less than $1 million. Insurance covering employees or third parties of no less than $100,000 bodily injury and $1,000,000 property damage. Qualifications Proven experience as a Tile Installer or similar role, high‑rise, homes, or businesses. Familiarity with materials, methods, and tools involved in tile installation. Strong attention to detail and precision. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and layout plans. Excellent communication and customer‑service skills. Physical stamina and strength to handle heavy materials and equipment. High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in tile installation is a plus.
