Surgery Scheduler

Are you a highly organized, detail-oriented professional ready to be the backbone of our Orthopedic clinic? Join us as a Surgery Scheduler! You'll meticulously plan and seamlessly execute all inpatient and outpatient procedures, tests, and studies, providing essential support and communication to patients and physicians. You will:

• Schedule & coordinate: Maintain the surgery schedule, coordinate patient appointments, and facilitate registration.
• Patient & insurance liaison: Conduct patient pre-certification for insurance approval and communicate detailed pre-op, arrival, and departure instructions.
• Pre-operative perfection: Ensure all required pre-operative tests are scheduled and completed.
• Resource coordination: Confirm necessary equipment and rooms are arranged, and pre-surgery medications are ordered.
• Problem solver: Screen calls, manage date changes/cancellations, and escalate non-routine issues. Schedule any necessary follow-up appointments.

Shift: Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm

Qualifications: What You'll Bring:

• Exceptional organization & detail-orientation: Flawless execution of complex schedules and critical deadlines.
• Outstanding communication skills: Professional and empathetic interaction with patients and staff.
• Proactive problem-solving: Anticipating and addressing issues efficiently.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2 years related experience in a healthcare environment required OR current CHI Mercy Health employee.
