Structured Cabling Installation Technician | $41,600–$65,200/yr | Full-Time + Benefits

We’re seeking a skilled Structured Cabling Installation Technician to join a growing team that specializes in structured cabling systems. This full-time role involves the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of voice, data, and fiber optic cabling systems in both new construction and retrofit environments.

This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with hands-on experience in cable installation and a strong understanding of industry standards.

Salary Range:

• $41,600 – $65,200 annually , based on nce
• Hourly pay with overtime available

Structured Cabling Installation Technician Responsibilities:

• Install and maintain structured cabling systems for voice, data, and fiber optic networks
• Pull and terminate cables, including coaxial and 8-pin modular connectors
• Dress, label, and test cabling to meet certification and performance standards
• Install racks, patch panels, backboards, and grounding infrastructure
• Conduct copper and fiber optic testing and troubleshooting using diagnostic tools
• Perform retrofits, upgrades, and system cut-overs
• Follow industry standards (ANSI, EIA/TIA) and comply with safety protocols
• Remove outdated or abandoned cabling as needed
• Complete documentation including test results, safety logs, and project records
• Act as a liaison between the field and office for project updates and coordination

Cable Technician Requirements:

• Valid driver’s license required
• Experience working with power tools and interpreting construction schematics
• Comfortable working at heights (3–12 ft) and in confined spaces (e.g., attics, crawl spaces)
• Able to lift and carry up to 75 lbs throughout the workday
• Familiarity with industry codes and installation best practices
• Certifications in communications technology a plus
• Must pass background check and drug screening
• Ability to distinguish color-coded wires (full color spectrum recognition required)
