Position Summary:
We are seeking a passionate and qualified Special Education Teacher – SDC MMSN
(Mild/Moderate Support Needs) to serve students in a Special Day Class (SDC) setting
in Antioch area, CA. The ideal candidate will provide individualized instruction, behavioral
support, and academic planning to students with mild to moderate disabilities, helping
them succeed in both academic and social-emotional development.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to
each student’s academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs.
Deliver instruction aligned with Common Core State Standards and IEP goals in
a self-contained classroom setting.
Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and
support staff to promote student success.
Use evidence-based instructional strategies and positive behavior supports
students to engage in learning.
Collect and analyze student data to monitor progress and inform instructional
decisions.
Provide accommodation and modifications to support student learning across
curriculum areas.
Facilitate IEP meetings and maintain accurate and timely documentation as
required by state and federal law.
Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment.
Communicate regularly with families to support home-school collaboration.
Qualifications:
Required:
Valid California Education Specialist Credential (Mild/Moderate or Mild/Moderate
Support Needs)
CLAD or English Learner Authorization
Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field
Preferred:
Master’s degree in Special Education
Experience working in a self-contained SDC classroom
Strong knowledge of behavior intervention strategies and instructional technology
