Our Next Experienced Senior Insurance Coverage Associate Attorney will handle New York State Court Personal Injury Defense from soup to nuts and also train/supervise our younger lawyers doing the same! Must have strong experience in insurance coverage issues. Must know how to analyze liability policies and coverage thereunder, render coverage opinions, and litigate declaratory judgment actions.

Responsibilities

• Work with our experienced civil litigators in representing insurers and insured
• Defending claims covered by commercial general liability, commercial auto, and other types of coverage
• Court appearances, depositions, discovery, and motion drafting will be your responsibility
• Drafting of reports and budgets and keeping clients informed about their matters

Required Education, Skills, and Experience

• Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science and JD
• Admission to the New York bar is required (plus New Jersey bar experience would be great)
• Must have strong experience in insurance coverage issues.
• Must know how to analyze liability policies and coverage thereunder, render coverage opinions, and litigate declaratory judgment actions.
• Strong experience with Defense Litigation and Insurance Coverage
• Experience with representing insurers and insured defending claims covered by commercial general liability, commercial auto, and other types of coverage.
• Strong experience with Insurance Defense, Product Liability, Premises Liability, and New York Labor Law Practice
• Experience with court appearances, depositions, discovery, and motion drafting (first-tier writing skills)
• Experience drafting reports and budgets
• Experience authoring coverage opinions and litigating declaratory judgment actions
• Experience with commercial general liability policy, surplus lines, and transportation-related coverages in NY and NJ.
