Roustabout Job Description
Position Summary:
A Roustabout performs general labor and maintenance tasks in oil and gas field operations. This entry-level role supports drilling, production, and service crews by ensuring equipment, tools, and worksites are safe, clean, and operational.
Key Responsibilities:
· Assist with the assembly, installation, and repair of oilfield equipment and machinery.
· Perform general maintenance such as painting, cleaning, and lubricating equipment.
· Load, unload, and move materials, tools, and supplies around the worksite.
· Operate hand tools, power tools, and light equipment safely.
· Inspect and maintain pipelines, valves, and pumping equipment.
· Assist in rigging up and rigging down drilling and service rigs.
· Follow all company and industry safety procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
· Work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks.
Qualifications & Skills:
· High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
· Previous oilfield or construction labor experience (a plus but not required).
· Ability to work long shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
· Strong physical stamina; able to lift 50+ lbs and perform manual labor.
· Willingness to learn and follow directions in a fast-paced environment.
· Commitment to safety and teamwork.
· Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Work Environment:
• Outdoor field setting with exposure to extreme weather conditions.
• Physically demanding role requiring climbing, bending, lifting, and extended periods of standing.
• Rotational schedules may apply depending on company needs.
