Professional Land Surveyor
Salary : $100,000 - $130,000
Location : Santa Cruz, CA
Overview
In this role, you will oversee and execute surveying projects, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and high-quality deliverables. This role includes technical surveying work, project coordination, and supervision of field crews and survey technicians.
Responsibilities
- Prepare service agreements, survey maps, plans, and exhibits
- Maintain project records and correspondence
- Provide expertise for complex surveying issues and conduct research for upcoming surveys
- Meet with planners, engineers, and architects to gather project requirements
- Liaise with external agencies and handle surveying-related communications
- Stamp and sign work products when in responsible charge
- Oversee field operations and manage personal project workload
- Supervise Survey Technicians and coordinate deliverables
Requirements
- Active PLS license
- Valid driver’s license
- Bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred
- 6+ years of surveying experience
- 5 years of AutoCAD experience
- Strong technical knowledge of surveying methods, instruments, and state laws
- Proficiency with surveying software
- Strong communication and leadership skills
Physical & Work Environment
- Office and field work required
- Must be able to walk on uneven terrain, lift up to 45 lbs, and work in varied weather conditions
- Occasional interaction with frustrated clients or agencies
