At Danes and Friends Training, we’re passionate about dogs—especially the big ones! Led by Amber Boone (“Trainer Extraordinaire”), we specialize in behavioral training, giant breeds (with a heart for Great Danes), and rescue work. Our team is known for expert guidance, compassion, and a playful, community-focused spirit.

Position Overview:
We’re looking for a reliable, compassionate Overnight Pet Sitter to join our team. This role is perfect for someone who loves dogs of all sizes (giant breeds included!), values positive reinforcement, and enjoys helping pups feel safe and happy while their families are away.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide overnight care for client dogs in their homes or at designated locations (primarily in Indianapolis, with possible travel for in-home clients across the USA).
• Ensure dogs’ well-being, safety, and comfort throughout the night.
• Administer meals, medications, and follow any special care instructions.
• Monitor and document behavior, noting any changes or concerns for the primary trainer.
• Offer companionship, enrichment, and lots of affection!
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and handle minor cleaning tasks related to pet care.
• Communicate updates and photos to pet owners as requested.

Requirements:

• Previous experience caring for dogs (professional pet sitting, kennel, rescue, or veterinary experience preferred).
• Confidence working with dogs of all sizes and temperaments, including large and giant breeds.
• Comfortable handling dogs with behavioral challenges (training provided).
• Ability to stay overnight (typically 8–12 hours per shift).
• Reliable transportation and willingness to travel locally (occasional travel opportunities for in-home clients).
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Must be 18+ years old and able to pass a background check.

Bonus Points:

• Experience with Great Danes or other giant breeds.
• Familiarity with positive reinforcement training methods.
• Animal first aid or CPR certification.
