Lead Offset Pressman
Location: Sheboygan, WI
Shifts Available:
1st Shift: 6:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
3rd Shift: 10:00 p.m. – 6:00 a.m.
Pay: $29.25–$30.75/hour, based on experience
About the RoleThis is a true lead position for an experienced Offset Pressman who takes pride in quality, consistency, and running a tight operation. You’ll have hands-on ownership of press performance, lead a press crew, and be the go-to expert for troubleshooting, color control, and workflow coordination. If you’re comfortable making decisions, mentoring others, and holding high production standards, this role gives you the authority and respect to do just that.
What You’ll Be Responsible ForLead day-to-day offset press operations with a focus on quality, efficiency, and safety
Troubleshoot mechanical and print-quality issues; proactively prevent downtime
Set up and register presses, maintain tight color and registration standards
Prepare jobs including stock issuance, plate hanging, ink mixing, and blanket changes
Monitor production for defects, wear, or damage and make real-time corrections
Train, mentor, and support Offset Assistants and Feeder Pressmen
Coordinate workflow, scheduling, and priorities with the Print Department Supervisor
Verify factory tickets and job specs prior to production to ensure accuracy
Maintain a clean, organized, and professional press area
Order inks and printing supplies as needed
Communicate clearly with prepress, finishing, and other departments
Operate powered industrial vehicles when required
Solid offset press experience; lead or senior press experience strongly preferred
Proven ability to troubleshoot press issues and guide a press crew
Strong understanding of inks, substrates, plates, and press mechanics
Confident communicator with natural leadership ability
Organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently
High school diploma or equivalent
Ability to stand and work on the press floor for extended periods
Regular lifting up to 35 lbs; occasional lifting up to 70 lbs
Vision abilities including close, distance, depth perception, and color accuracy
