We need COBOL developer as soon as possible. Client is in process of transition to the new application that is replacing the legacy application. Most job duties for this new personnel involves

– Operations and maintenance

– Error handling with the existing data

– No Program changes

• Dynamically work on the COBOL program and also be able to work on the newer technology

– Running the application for the parallel testing with new program- Scenarios

• Operations request on data extracts or logic in the programs.
• Collaborate with the new project team and ability to work with the other teams. Also communicate on the current operations and maintenance on the use cases.

Required Skills

Strong experience in Mainframe, Microfocus, COBOL VSAM CICS and DB2.

• Preferable to have experience in JCL.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Developing Microfocus COBOL applications Production support for client regions.
• Good written and spoken communication skills.
• Technical analysis and design of systems, applications, processes and components.
• Develop, maintain and enhance systems based on business requirements using approved technologies and coding standards.
• Develop, maintain and enhance testing functionality for all systems.
• Collaborate and assist other team members in the conceptualization and implementation of development projects.
• Monitor and ensure optimal performance of our key internal and external applications.
• Conduct research on emerging development techniques, languages and standards.
• Analyze, troubleshoot and assist in the resolution of system issues.
• Adept at reading, writing, and interpreting technical documentation and procedure manuals.
• Conduct research into software issues and products as required.
