Job Summary

Accurate Staffing, Inc. is seeking an experienced Engine Lathe Operator (Class I) to join our client’s precision machining team. This position is ideal for individuals with strong attention to detail, proven machining skills, and the ability to read and interpret blueprints for diverse, close-tolerance work.

 

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret detailed blueprints and drawings
• Perform diversified machining work on a variety of materials and parts , including burnouts, bar stock, and fabricated pieces
• Operate and set up engine lathes using precision measuring instruments
• Maintain tight tolerances and perform accurate setups with minimal supervision
• Select appropriate feeds, speeds, and tooling based on material and part type
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
• Fill and maintain machine fluids and supplies
• Perform miscellaneous duties and assist with training new operators as assigned

 

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience operating an engine lathe in a job shop environment
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Must be able to read blueprints and use precision instruments
• Able to grind tool bits, make own setups , and meet close tolerances
• Lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as bending, twisting, and turning
• Work 40+ hours per week with a ten-minute break per shift
• Strong focus on safety, quality, and dependability
