St. Matthias Parish School is seeking a part-time K4 Educational Assistant for the 2024-2025 school year. The Educational Assistant will provide support to students in our K4 classroom, assisting in classroom activities and other duties. This is a part-time position (20 hours a week).
Our mission: Faith First – Educating children while building a Catholic Foundation that instills Christian values.
Key responsibilities include:
Assist the classroom teacher in providing instructional activities and reinforcement for students.
Assist in developing student skills and independence in all areas, including academics, communication, and social interaction.
Work one-on-one, in small group settings, and within the classroom groups as needed.
Assisting with lunchroom and playground supervision.
Preferred qualifications include:
Experience and interest in working with children, particularly in an educational setting
Competence in academic areas necessary to assist in instructional tasks
Comfort working in close proximity to students
Good judgment, cooperation, tact, and discretion in dealing with students, families, and others
Collaboration and open communication
