The ideal candidate will help students learn subject matter and skills that will contribute to their development as mature, knowledgeable, and responsible individuals. This role requires a passion for teaching, a commitment to student success, and the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse school community.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university.
  • Valid teacher certification appropriate for the specific assignment and grade level as required by federal, state, or local regulations, including the No Child Left Behind Act.
  • Prior experience or formal training in working with “at-risk” students is preferred.

You will work with other staff to create an effective educational environment.

In the classroom, you will plan and deliver lessons that meet students' individual needs, create an engaging and orderly learning environment, and use positive behavior interventions. You will assess and document student progress, address learning challenges with specialist support, and meet the needs of special program students. Additionally, you will oversee and evaluate the performance of educational assistants and volunteers.
