Are you a dedicated Hematology-Oncology physician seeking a rewarding temporary opportunity to make a difference in patient care? We are seeking an experienced Locum Physician to provide exceptional hematology and oncology services at esteemed healthcare facilities in Tacoma and Gig Harbor. This pivotal role offers a unique chance to contribute to patient treatment plans, support a safe transition to permanent staffing, and work within a collaborative clinical environment.

In this vital position, you will deliver outpatient and inpatient care, manage a patient load of 16-20 individuals daily, and operate within a well-equipped hospital outpatient department. The role includes standard hematology and oncology responsibilities, with optional procedures such as bone marrow aspirations. The schedule comprises four 8-hour days weekly (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday at St. Joseph in Tacoma, and Friday at St. Anthony in Gig Harbor) with rotating weekend call duties, capped at once every four weekends. Night call is currently optional.

Required Skills:

• Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution
• Board certification or eligibility in Hematology and Oncology
• Active medical license in Washington State
• Proven experience managing hematology and oncology patients
• Strong clinical judgment and excellent communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
• Proficiency with Epic EMR system

Nice to Have Skills:

• Experience performing or assisting with bone marrow aspirations
• Prior locum or temporary staffing experience
• Familiarity with hospital inpatient and outpatient settings
• BMT/BMB experience (not mandatory)

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Medical degree from an accredited institution
• Minimum 2 years post-residency clinical experience in hematology and oncology
• Prior experience in hospital-based outpatient and inpatient care settings

Other Requirements:

• Willingness to start as soon as possible within a 60-90 day credentialing window
• Ability to work 4 days per week, with participation in rotating weekend call
• Valid DEA registration and other relevant certifications
• Comfortable working in a hospital environment using Epic EMR
