Global Program Management Associate Director

What you will do

Let's do this. Let's change the world. In this vital role, you will be a strategic partner to leaders of the Product Teams to enable the success and implementation of the strategic vision of the program.

Implementation of our product strategy occurs via two cross-functional sub-teams called Work Package Teams (WPTs). The WPTs include:

  1. Evidence Generation Teams (EGTs) focusing on the holistic evidence generation plan and strategy to support registration, access, and use.
  2. Integrated Brand Teams (IBTs) that are committed to integrated global brand planning across global marketing, value and access, and medical affairs teams.

The Commercialization Global Program Management Associate Director (ADPM) will drive the development, creation, and implementation of high-quality, global, coordinated cross-functional project plans for highly complex product(s) in accordance with the program strategy. The product(s) that the ADPM are assigned to will be high in priority and complexity, spanning multiple indications and phases of development. Not only will the ADPM have end-to-end accountability for the integrated project plans of the assigned Work Package Team and relevant sub-teams, the ADPM must work seamlessly with other program management colleagues as the lead WPT program manager to deliver on the full scope of priorities of the WPT. In addition, the ADPM may be asked to lead and/or participate in special department, cross-functional, or team projects.

This specific ADPM role will support a highly complex Evidence Generation Team (EGT) within Amgen's Rare Disease Therapeutic Area and be responsible for driving the success of the EGT's development and execution of the holistic evidence generation strategy. The ADPM will have primary focus on facilitating the strategic development of Clinical Development Plans for new patient impact expansion opportunities and will report into the Sr Director of Global Program Management. We are open to discussions about location flexibility or remote work arrangements.

Responsibilities include:

  • Partners with functional leads to develop high-quality, integrated, cross-functional plans for cross-functional sub-teams that are aligned with the overall program strategy.
  • Facilitates the strategic development of Clinical Development Plans for new patient impact expansion opportunities.
  • Ensures cross-functional alignment and accountability.
  • Drives the development and timely completion of annual WPT goals and input to the Global Product Strategy.
  • Facilitates resource planning, financial, and capacity assessments, as needed.
  • Documents issues, decisions, and action items of functional work package teams and ad hoc project team meetings.
  • Conducts the risk management and scenario planning and develops contingency and/or risk mitigation plans.
  • Coordinates activities with external business partners and alliances, where applicable; contributes to a successful partnership outcome.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Doctorate degree and 3 years of relevant experience OR
  • Masters degree and 5 years of relevant experience OR
  • Bachelors degree and 7 years of relevant experience OR
  • Associates degree and 12 years of relevant experience OR
  • High school diploma / GED and 14 years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Early and late-stage drug development experience, including deep experience in one or more core drug development and commercialization functions.
  • Experience leading teams through business case development, lifecycle management planning, and complex governance processes.
  • Program and project management skills with experience in a healthcare-related environment, operationalizing critical initiatives, including cross-functional strategic planning, development of integrated plans, and driving execution to plan.
  • Strong communication, including influencing without authority and navigating within a matrixed environment.
  • Experience using Project Management tools, methodologies, practices, and infrastructure, as related to the Biopharmaceutical Industry.

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
