Job Description

Ranger, revolutionizing software testing

Ranger is an AI-powered platform redefining QA. Our mission is to power testing for the worlds most ambitious engineering, product, and design teams so they can get back to building.

Some of the fastest-growing companies in the world (Clay, Suno, Dust, and more) use Ranger and we collaborated with OpenAI, which you can read about here . Were also incredibly excited to announce $8.9M in total funding over two rounds of funding led by XYZ and General Catalyst.

About the role

As our first Implementation Engineer, you'll drive customer success by managing end-to-end testing pipelines using our AI platform. From initial onboarding through renewal, you'll own the technical relationship with customers, transforming their requirements into reliable automated test suites.

This role requires a resourceful problem-solver capable of navigating complex technical challenges while building strong customer relationships. You'll balance hands-on troubleshooting with strategic customer management to ensure our customers get the most value from our testing service.

As our first Implementation Engineer, you will:
  1. Own the full customer technical journey from implementation through renewal, driving success across onboarding, integration, and ongoing optimization
  2. Lead technical implementation projects, including AI test suite generation, configuration, and integration with customer CI/CD pipelines
  3. Ensure test reliability through proactive monitoring, failure resolution, and workflow optimization
  4. Drive customer health metrics and identify expansion opportunities through deep understanding of customer needs
  5. Support pre-sales through technical demos, assessments, and proof-of-concept implementations
  6. Develop custom solutions for unique customer requirements while maintaining scalability
  7. Be the voice of the customer by capturing technical requirements, shaping product direction, and collaborating with engineering on platform improvements
  8. Create and maintain customer-facing technical documentation and implementation guides
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
  1. Software development background with experience in test automation or web development
  2. Experience with browser-based testing or demonstrated ability to quickly learn frameworks like Playwright
  3. Ability to integrate Ranger into diverse dev workflows - from cloud CI/CD to on-premise runners and custom environments
  4. Effective communicator with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  5. Proven ability to quickly learn new technologies and adapt solutions across different technical environments
  6. Previous experience in customer-facing technical roles
  7. High sense of agency and ability to prioritize work independently in a fast-paced environment
  8. Growth mindset and a commitment to continuous learning
  9. Ability to manage multiple customer engagements and prioritize effectively
  10. Pragmatic decision-making that balances customer needs with technical feasibility

We value skills and mindset over specific credentials. Whether you have a CS degree, attended a boot camp, or are self-taught, we welcome diverse perspectives to contribute to our mission.

$100,000 - $120,000 a year

In addition to a base salary, employees will receive stock options.

Benefits for full-time team members include comprehensive medical, dental, and vision plans, paid holidays, and flexible paid time off (PTO).

Note: Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. We cannot sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.
