Job Summary  

The essential function of the Events & Retail Manager is to lead a team of promoters to generate qualified leads that could produce a sale for the company. They are responsible for finding new events and retail opportunities to ensure that event and retail sales and gross profit goals are reached. They are also responsible for coaching, mentoring, motivating, training, and holding the promoters accountable. We have career opportunities in both locations: Albany, NY and Chicopee, MA.

 

The Events & Retail Manager will be expected to promote and adhere to the workplace values of Yankee Home.

Schedule:  

The schedule will vary based on the needs of the marketing department each week. The employee will work a full time schedule including weekends and some evening shifts when necessary. 

 

Responsibilities include but not limited to:  

 

  • Develop retail partnerships and maintain good relationships with store managers. 
  • Maintain appropriate staffing at retail locations and events.
  • Work scheduled shifts at events with energy, excitement and focus. 
  • Create a fun work environment that allows promoters to be competitive towards weekly and monthly goals.
  • Effectively and constantly recruiting new brand promoters.
  • Always follow dress code and personal appearance: including good personal hygiene, professional attire, and cleanliness. 
  • Monitor punches and department’s payroll.
  • Submit monthly bonus reports. 
  • Prepares and maintains the events budget for the business plan detailing events, sales, expenses, head count and wages. 
  • Keep the displays clean, presentable, and in great condition. 
  • Must have your own vehicle and maintain auto insurance (100k/300k plan)
  • Be available to work most weekends.
  • Always represent the company in a professional manner. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

Work Environment:  

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outdoor weather conditions. 
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can be loud at times. 
  • Always follow dress code and personal appearance: including good personal hygiene, professional attire, and cleanliness.

Requirements:

  • Must have your own vehicle and maintain auto insurance (100k/300k plan)
  • Be available to work most weekends.
  • Be able to drive to event locations and set up booth displays. 
  • Able to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Able to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. 

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) or equivalent from an accredited four-year college
  • Or four years’ related experience and/or training
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience

 

Physical Demands:  

  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand for extended periods of time; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
  • The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. 
  • The employee must be able to drive to the event locations and set up booth displays.
