POSITION OVERVIEW
The Director of Housekeeping is primarily responsible for managing the daily Housekeeping and Laundry operations to ensure an impeccable level of cleanliness and aesthetics throughout the resort. Hire, train and manage housekeeping staff for optimal performance in quality and efficiency. Implement, support and supervise an effective inspection program for all guestrooms, public spaces, and laundry operations. Manage Housekeeping and Laundry departments in a fiscally responsible manner. Oversee and maintain sufficient inventories to ensure all employees have proper supplies and equipment. Understand the impact of the department's operations on the overall success of Sensei Porcupine Creek and work collaboratively with partnering departments to achieve financial and guest satisfaction goals. Continually work toward advancing Sensei's vision to elevate and innovate in key areas while managing efficiencies and quality throughout all processes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Implement processes covering the entire scope of the laundry operations including the laundering of linen & terry, guest garments, and uniform quality and timeliness
Create and streamline Housekeeping and Laundry procedures to produce effective and efficient results
Establish a process for Uniform Inventory from purchasing, receiving, team member distribution, and maintenance
Order housekeeping and laundry supplies timely that meets financial forecast and operational needs
Involved In recruitment for housekeeping and laundry staffing
Manage departmental expenses based on forecast and budget
Provide ongoing training, coaching, and development for team members to ensure high performance
Strive to continually Improve guest and employee satisfaction
Address guest concerns and ensure prompt resolution
Ensure compliance with all Sensei policies and procedures
Set up the daily Housekeeping boards and work assignments
Conduct a daily departmental "Torii Time" line up with the team
Assess daily guest room inventory, assign projects as needed, inspect and address all special requests
Perform monthly Inventory of all guest supplies and linen to ensure upkeep of proper par levels
Make sure equipment and chemicals are properly stored, labeled, and In accordance with safety guidelines
Ensure rooms are clean and inspected, available to guests in a timely and efficient manner
Ensure VIP rooms are prepared up to brand standards
Lead, train and supervise attendants assigned to guest rooms, turndown, laundry and public areas, and housepersons in all areas to ensure staff is in full understanding of performance expectations
Provide team member coaching and counseling based on inspection results, and actively assign property improvement tasks based on inspection results
Ensure guest room status is effectively communicated to the Front Desk in a timely and efficient manner
Emphasize guest satisfaction during all departmental meetings and focus on continuous improvement in service performance
Monitor and control organization, cleanliness, and aesthetics of all areas of the hotel and facilities including, but not limited to guest rooms, spa and fitness, offices, and public areas to ensure Sensei standards are always in place
Communicate and coordinate with Engineering to ensure the efficient repair and maintenance of items related to guestrooms and public areas
Work with the Director of Operations and Head of Engineering to develop and maintain a preventative maintenance program
Observe all OSHA, local and federal safety guidelines and maintain a healthy and safe environment for employees and guests
Take immediate action to resolve any issues or obstacles that could result in compromised safety or injury and actively participate in promoting company safety initiatives
Maintain and monitor execution and follow-through of agreed upon daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly communication meetings and resulting actions items and initiatives
Lead by example with the ability to mentor, inspire and set clear expectations aligned with the Sensei Culture, brand standards of guest experience and service guidelines
Maintain a strong unwavering commitment to ensure employees are well cared for in their daily work and that wellbeing activities and opportunities for growth are provided
Any and all related duties as assigned by the Director of Operations and the General Manager

Due to the intimate nature of the resort with limited number of guests on property, must assist teams laterally across all departments to lead a seamless guest flow throughout the different resort spaces

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and/or Experience High School Degree or Equivalent
2-3 years of leadership experience in Housekeeping Operations in a luxury hotel environment
Experience in opening a luxury resort preferred
Working knowledge of Housekeeping and Front Office operational systems
Familiar and comfortable with technology and applications such as Excel, Word, Asana, Slack, Alice, Opera, Oasis, Greenhouse, Paycom
Strong personal commitment to wellness and motivated to live the Sensei Way
Discerning attention to detail and dedication to brand presentation
Required Technical / Other Skills and Abilities Strong organizational and analytical skills
