Lead Technician- 5+ years of Lead or Management experience

L4 Technician- 5+ years of dedicated DC Experience Required. Team will be handling troubleshooting of large GPU deployments inside an enterprise DC environment

L3 Technician- 3+ years of DC experience

Shifts:

A side Days: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, & Every other Wednesday 6a - 6p

A side nights: Same days as above except 6p - 6a

B side Days: Thursday, Friday, Saturday, & Every other Wednesday 6a - 6p

B side Nights: Same as Above except 6p - 6a.

Job Brief: We are seeking a highly skilled Data Center Technicians to join our IT team. The Data Center Technicians will be responsible for the break-fix of GPUs, servers, network, and cabling, as well as ticket management (ITSM). The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in landing fully populated GPU or network racks within a data center environment, including rack movement, baying, leveling, grounding, hot-air containment, and overhead cable containment trays. They should be familiar with interpreting BOMs to ensure all materials are accounted for and have a strong knowledge of Ethernet cabling technologies, including copper, fiber (SM, MM, MPO), routing, dressing, and connectors.

Responsibilities:

•\tPerform tasks listed under Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 as needed.

o\tMove servers and switches to required destinations for installation.

o\tInspect servers and switches to ensure they are not damaged.

o\tInstall servers and switches and cable them according to provided wire maps.

o\tEnsure all cables are bundled neatly and in accordance with standards.

o\tDouble-check with network admins to ensure everything is cabled correctly and all connections are up.

o\tInstall additional components needed (NIC, Drive, Memory).

o\tAssist in unboxing and prepping servers as needed.

o\tAudit servers and consumables.

o\tTroubleshoot a variety of servers and isolate the problem that the server is encountering.

o\tOrder replacement parts and install them in servers and ship back the defective part to their respective vendors.

o\tUpdate firmware on servers to ensure the latest version is installed.

o\tConfigure IP addresses and default login credentials on servers.

o\tAssist network admins on any issues they are having with a server, including replacing broken or damaged cables, re-routing cables to different ports on the server or switch, replacing optics on both server and switch ports, changing out parts, and installing upgraded versions of those parts in servers.

o\tTemporarily rack and stack a server or switch in a cabinet and cable it so the network admin can remotely log in and run configurations on the device.

o\tAssist network admins who reach out requesting specific assistance with servers or switches.

o\tDeploy and configure GPUs in servers, ensuring proper installation and functionality.

o\tPerform break-fix tasks, including troubleshooting and replacing faulty components.

o\tProvide advanced troubleshooting support and resolution of tickets.

o\tServe as the initial contact/liaison between team members and management.

o\tPrioritize and manage workload across the team.

o\tReview build documentation before projects and validate any questions or concerns.

o\tDirect build activities related to data center operations.

o\tEnsure projects are aligned with data center standards.

o\tProvide thought leadership to aid with growth across the program.

o\tManage multiple simultaneous projects with a high degree of stress within the work environment.

o\tMonitor project deadlines and provide status updates to project managers.

o\tEnsure compliance with safety measures and data center standards.

o\tDeploy and configure GPUs in servers, ensuring proper installation and functionality.

o\tPerform break-fix tasks related to GPUs, including troubleshooting and replacing faulty components.

•\tPerform break-fix tasks on GPUs, servers, network, and cabling.

•\tManage tickets using ITSM tools.

•\tLand fully populated GPU or network racks within the data center environment, including rack movement, baying, leveling, grounding, hot-air containment, and overhead cable containment trays.

•\tInterpret BOMs to ensure all materials are accounted for.

•\tInstall, test, and label copper and fiber infrastructures within the data center.

•\tHandle and install optical modules such as SFPs and QSFP style connectors.

•\tScope and clean fibers (SC, LC, MPO styles).

•\tRack and stack equipment within existing racks.

•\tPatch fiber and copper cables.

•\tLead and manage teams effectively.

•\tTravel as required.

•\tWork with DC power and DC powered equipment.

•\tProvide daily communication and document progress using customer tracking mechanisms, MS Office, and digital photos.

•\tWork in a Microsoft data center environment.

•\tFamiliar with telecom engineering designs specific to enterprise-level data centers.

Requirements:

•\t3-10+ years of deployment and/or break-fix experience in a data center.

•\tExtensive experience with landing fully populated GPU or network racks within a data center environment.

•\tStrong knowledge of Ethernet cabling technologies, including copper, fiber (SM, MM, MPO), routing, dressing, and connectors.

•\tExperience with handling and installing optical modules such as SFPs and QSFP style connectors.

•\tExperience with scoping and cleaning fibers (SC, LC, MPO styles).

•\tExperience with racking and stacking equipment within existing racks.

•\tExperience with patching fiber and copper cables.

•\tProven experience in leading teams.

•\tWillingness to travel as required.

•\tExperience with DC power and DC powered equipment.

•\tStrong communication skills and ability to document progress using customer tracking mechanisms, MS Office, and digital photos.

•\tExperience working in a Microsoft data center environment.

•\tFamiliarity with telecom engineering designs specific to enterprise-level data centers.

Onsite in Mt. Pleasant, WI -Seeking a team based out of the South Eastern Wisconsin area who will be focused on GPU cluster deployments within MKE 03 and 04, Mt Pleasant, WI. Multiple resources across all 4 core MSFT shifts (A/B/Days/Nights) on a 3x4x12 schedule

The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $49.50/hr.
