A long-standing Seattle law firm is seeking a  Contract Attorney - Litigation (4874)to support its established maritime and civil litigation practice. This role offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced litigator (5+ years) to gain hands-on exposure to a specialized practice area, contribute meaningfully to active cases, and work within a historic and respected firm. Maritime experience is not required, and mentorship is available for attorneys looking to grow their skills in this niche.

What You’ll Do:

• Handle all phases of litigation on an assigned case load, from intake through discovery, motion practice, and pre-trial preparation
• Take and defend depositions, manage case strategy, and coordinate with clients and experts
• Collaborate with partners and other team members in a collegial, hands-on environment
• Participate in on-site investigations, including shipboard and waterfront visits as needed
• Support the firm’s high standards and reputation in maritime and civil litigation

What They’re Looking For:

• 5+ years of litigation experience (defense preferred, but plaintiff-side considered)
• Strong case management, time management, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently while exercising sound judgment
• Comfortable collaborating with a team while working on a contract basis
• Interest in maritime law and a willingness to contribute to specialized cases
• Licensed to practice in Washington State

This contract role is ideal for attorneys seeking flexibility while gaining valuable experience in a niche practice area. Work-from-home options are available (typically one day per week), and the position provides professional mentorship within a supportive, close-knit team.
