Nossi College of Art and Design is looking for energetic and qualified adjunct faculty members in our Bachelor's in Video program.

We are currently reviewing resumes for part-time Instructors to teach AUDIO TECHNIQUES on our campus in Madison. We are a commercial program that teaches professional lighting techniques on location and in our studios. E

Description: Students will learn basic audio recording, mixing and editing techniques for video production using industry hardware and editing software. Using various recording and editing exercises, students will get hands-on training exploring the technical and theoretical aspects of audio engineering.

Applicants should possess strong interpersonal skills, a passion for teaching, and the ability to effectively communicate with students to help them achieve their educational goals. Must be able to work collegially in a team environment. Our classes meet once a week for four hours. Our classes begin at 8 am, 1 pm and 6 pm. Our classes are scheduled on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays. Our studios are open 8 am-10 pm Mon-Thur and 9 am-4 pm on Fridays. We are on a trimester system and our next semester begins May 6th, 2024.

We are a commercial bachelor's degree program located in Nashville, TN. We are in search of professionals with a minimum of a bachelor's degree in photography, or a closely related field, with at least five years of professional experience. Our goal is to hire instructors who have experience in the classes we'll ask them to teach. Specialization is important so the students can learn best practices. Each course will meet once a week for 4 hours.

The curriculum is laid out for each course on a week-by-week basis in our education portal called Moodle. All of the grade tabulation is done electronically. Quizzes are embedded in the portal and graded automatically, so your out-of-classroom commitment is limited. What's important:

  • Provide constructive feedback on student work and support their artistic development
Our 13-year-old facility was designed with the input of our faculty to benefit our students. We have three photography studios ranging from 2161 sq ft with a cyc wall to 636 sq ft. We have extensive lighting equipment for student use from Paul C. Buff to Profoto.

  • This is a campus-based position in Nashville, TN.
POSITION CONCEPT:

The ideal candidate must be able to encourage, motivate, and coach college students.

The Instructor/Faculty is the main-stay of the academic program and is a master teacher in their subject area. The Instructor must be an effective classroom manager. Each Instructor must be adaptable to a variety of situations and have the ability to relate well to students, other faculty members and the administration of the College.
The Instructor must also believe in and follow the philosophy of the College and agree to support College policies and procedures.

Classes meet once per week over 15 weeks.

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Bachelor's Degree (Required)
2. At least five years professional experience working in the field that is being taught.
3. Thorough knowledge of the subject matter.
4. Ability to teach, coach, mentor, and inspire learners.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Teach students according to approved syllabus. Changes may be made to the syllabus upon approval of the Program Director, Vice President of Academic Affairs, and President.
2. Conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times.
3. During the first class meeting, inform students of all course requirements, all materials that will be needed, all classroom policies including absences and tardies, all grading procedures, all project requirements, etc.
4. Take and record attendance for each class meeting separate from the students attendance sheets. Maintain all class records.
5. Monitor and chart each students progress through observation, reinforcement, remediation, tutoring and review.
6. Assist students progress by way of weekly quizzes, mid-term and final exams and by maintaining a current record of all grades including projects and presentations.
7. Counsel and advise students. Motivate students to do their best work.
8. Report all students with personal or psychological problems that may hinder academic performance or may result in potential harm to himself or others to the Student Services Director and College leadership.
9. Ensure student grading is completed on time and entered into the grade book consistently.
10. Notify every student, in writing, of their mid-term grade.
11. Make sure that classrooms are in good order at the end of each class.
12. Instructors must provide 3 hours of learning opportunity for each class.
