Job summary:

The Volunteer Tutor provides academic tutoring assistance to individuals participating in Goodwill Youth Programs. Tutoring may include math, reading, language, secondary and post-secondary education assistance, writing and other subjects that arise while the program participant navigates towards their academic and career goals.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Demonstrate Goodwill Industries of Southern Arizona's Values at all times
• Provides academic tutoring to program participants engaged in Goodwill's Youth Programs.
• Works with tutee towards accomplishing their goals on their Academic or Career Plans.
• Assists program staff with reviewing academic achievements as they happen.
• Reports any safety concerns or issues to the Program Manager or Goodwill Staff on site at the time of the concern or issue.
• Reports any non-compliance or lack of engagement a program participant may display while tutoring in certain subjects.
• Maintain a high level of confidentiality regarding Goodwill and persons receiving services.
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

• Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with all individuals.
• Ability to read, write and speak English and have basic math aptitude.
• Ability to follow written or verbal instruction.
• Ability to provide support services by working with at-risk youth.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Proof of COVID-19 full vaccination required Pima Community College
